MULLEIN (Verbascum densiflorum)
Mullein is a Biennial used to make herbal medicine. In its first year, the plant will create a short basal rosette of thick, soft, pale-green leaves. The leaves have been traditionally dried and used in teas to help with coughs, sore throats, and other breathing conditions.
In the second year, the plant forms a tall stalk of dense yellow flowers. The flowers have been used for earaches. The leaves and flowers are collected and used fresh or dried. The plant can grow up to seven feet in height in ideal conditions.
